Week 10! Down 12!

Hello family and friends! Today marks the completion of 10 weeks of the Slender With A Blender Weight loss challenge”! Where we are testing to make sure that the recipes in the book really WORK! The report is that I am down 12 pounds since the beginning of this “challenge” on September 1st (but remember, you can start your own personal challenge at any time). I think that’s pretty good, especially considering that what I am doing is drinking delicious shakes like “banana nut bread” p.5, for breakfast, and “chocolate cherries” p.15 for lunch, and then for dinner I’m having pretty much whatever I want. There have been times when I have regular food for both lunch AND dinner, and still the weight is melting off (slowly but surely). Truth is, I am limiting starchy carbs and sweets, but not avoiding them entirely. For example, you won’t find me sitting in front of the TV devouring a back of chips, or eating half a pan of brownies (former favorites… =D ). In fact, as of almost two weeks ago, I’ve added exercise, to my schedule. A brisk half hour, to one hour walk, 5 days out of 7, each week. That’s it! It hasn’t been difficult, the shakes and the between-meal snacks (those are always a low-glycemic bar, or nuts, or sliced veggies, etc.) have kept me feeling full, and my cravings are gone. On the other hand, I’m getting a little nervous about having 28 pounds to go, and only 14 weeks until my deadline of Valentine’s Day… That means I have to lose 2 pounds each week consistently, and I’m not the most disciplined dieter…. So please stay tuned! Your support and emails mean a LOT to me! And thank you for following along with my blog/vlog and weight loss report. If you haven’t already, please feel free to share your successes, and your favorite recipes by emailing us at slenderwithablender@gmail.com. And check us out on our TV debut! Who knew this little recipe book would get us on TV! Anyway, it was fun, and I hope you enjoy watching the segment, too. Thanks, Tannis
